Houston · 501(c)(3) Nonprofit
A Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultivating the next generation of leaders through education, wellness, and stewardship. Our work is advanced by the Perry Harrell Land Institute and funded each year by the Tees & Bees Golf Classic.
How We're Structured
Truly MAD is the foundation. The Perry Harrell Land Institute is where the work happens. Tees & Bees is how we fund it — together, they turn community generosity into measurable impact for Houston youth.
The Foundation
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Jerry Davis to channel decades of Houston public service into youth education, wellness, and leadership.

We serve elementary and middle-school youth in Houston's most underserved neighborhoods—bringing the soil, the harvest, and the quiet confidence of a working farm into the heart of the city. Through nutrition, wellness, and self-leadership, we cultivate a generation equipped to transform the communities they call home.
Our differentiator is unmistakable: we're bringing ranch and farm-inspired experiential learning into inner-city Houston—turning food deserts into classrooms and children into changemakers.

A Story Worth Growing
For too many children in District B, fresh food is a stranger and open land is a rumor. We change that—pairing every harvest with a hands-on lesson in nutrition, leadership, and what it means to steward a community.

Moments From The Movement

Perry Harrell Land Institute
Named for the farmer, mentor, and quiet force behind generations of Black landowners in Texas, the Perry Harrell Land Institute honors a legacy of stewardship, self-reliance, and service — teaching young people that the soil beneath their feet is the foundation of their future.
Through Truly MAD, the Institute connects students and families to agricultural education, land literacy, and the heritage of working the earth with intention and pride.
